Spend money on a handbag – it’s an investment you won’t regret
Just a few short years ago, it was common for women – even the better-off women – to carry bags that were from department stores, from Target, or even from craft fairs. What was important was that the bag was functional and somewhat good looking. There wasn’t a lot of across-the-board frenzy to have the Coach, Louis Vuitton and Marc Jacobs that we have now.
But these days, everyone carries a designer handbag. Whether a good-quality knock-off, or the authentic thing, it’s not uncommon for everyone from the soccer mom to the corporate mom to carry a designer bag.
Why? Is it status or something else? Why have handbags moved from being a necessary accessory to a required high-quality purchase? Why is it that even when times are tough, we find the money to purchase a designer handbag?
The answers are simple, really. Once we are introduced to the quality and style of the high-quality bags, we don’t want to turn back. We enjoy how they feel on the arm, how they look to us and others, and we enjoy the knowledge that we’re carrying a high-quality and high-end bag.
Unlike cheaper bags, good designer handbags last longer, and look better as they age. If you purchase a cheap handbag knowing that it might be a throwaway within a few months, you aren’t making an investment in anything. You likely won’t be able to loan it to anyone or give it to a friend or family member when you are done with it.
Perhaps as we as a society become more aware of how to make purchases that last and are worthwhile, we become more cognizant of the need to purchase a high-quality handbag.
Now, this isn’t to say that you must purchase only an authentic designer handbag. A well-made replica can serve many of the same purposes. Some of the better-made designer handbag replicas are made better and are of higher quality than a cheap no-name bag from a megastore.
