Why Cheap Handbags or Bags Are a Waste of Money

Now, we know it’s a tough economy, and luxuries should be curtailed. But we are here to argue that cheap handbags are a waste of money. Even when things are tight, you should be willing to invest good money in a good handbag. Don’t waste money on the cheap stuff.

This might sound a little harsh. After all, millions of women carry cheap designer handbags all the time. Are those millions of women wrong? Not at all. We’re just here to make the argument that you and they could do so much better. Here’s why.

1. When you carry a good quality handbag, your whole ensemble immediately looks better, richer, more pulled together. Whether you have a job interview or you need to meet someone for lunch, you can completely change the look of your overall outfit when you carry a good bag. You can fudge on the clothes and even the shoes, but the bag will set your outfit and look apart. You go from decent to exceptional.
2. Even if you have to save money on clothes and shoes, you can carry that special handbag. Not only will you look better (see no. 1) but you will also feel better. When you reach into your bag to pay for something, you’ll be reminded that you are carrying a high-quality designer handbag.
3. It will last longer. Cheap handbags look cheap quickly. No matter how good they look on the rack, no matter how upscale or authentically designer they look when you buy them, they will wear quickly. You’ve probably noticed this before. You purchase a cheap handbag because it looks really nice, it feels good and you think that you could fool people into thinking it’s an expensive handbag, but within a few wears, the lining is torn, or the hardware is dingy and scratched.
4. A classic handbag will last for years. You can hand it down to a friend or daughter. You might even be able to sell it when you are done with it. A cheap handbag has no lasting value beyond the few months you use it for. When you’re done with it, you give it away and it sits on the shelf at a thrift store, no longer having value to you or anybody else. That doesn’t happen with a designer handbag.
5. A good handbag can be a replica. It’s always ideal to purchase the real thing, but these days a good quality replica can be had for a fraction of the price of the real designer handbag. The replicas are still good quality bags and aren’t cheap. Even a Louis Vuitton or Dolce and Gabbana replica is better made and better looking than a department store special.  Even though we argue you may not want to get a cheap handbag, you can still get a discount designer handbag at a great price.
